Employee Health and Safety
At Georgia Gulf, safety is literally everybody's business. That's why we have employee-driven safety teams that focus on developing awareness and individual commitments to safety. In fact, our Plaquemine complex's Safety Involvement Team has implemented some significant improvements in the facility's procedures and safety policies. The team seeks to encourage employee involvement and improve the company's systems with the ultimate goal of preventing injuries. And while SIT began with nine individuals, its numbers have grown rapidly to include groups of employees who reach out to all areas of the plant.
Other tangible proof of Georgia Gulf's commitment to worker safety is easily found: the Pasadena facility was recently recognized as "Pasadena Industry of the Year," and received several Texas Chemical Council awards for distinguished safety performance.
