Nothing is more important to Georgia Gulf than the safety of our employees and communities. Because we handle large volumes of flammable chemicals, we are acutely aware of the importance of safe processes and safe products.
Safety begins with well-trained employees. But our plants also use safety devices and procedures, emergency controls, fire control systems and backup power supplies to reduce risk.
As a further safety measure, Georgia Gulf has prepared comprehensive Risk Management Plans that comply with the federal Clean Air Act regulations. These plans help our facilities put practices in place to prevent incidents. The plans, which are available to local communities, include information about potential chemical incidents and the emergency response action that would be taken should such an emergency occur.
